Day by Day
Arrival and Transfer to Ruaha National Park
Begin your safari with a flight or transfer to Ruaha National Park. Check into your lodge or tented camp and enjoy lunch surrounded by the sounds of nature. In the afternoon, set out on your first game drive through this vast and wild park. Keep an eye out for large elephant and buffalo herds, lions lounging in the shade, and rare antelopes like sable and roan. Return to camp for dinner and overnight under the stars, soaking in the park’s raw beauty.
Full Day in Ruaha
Spend a full day exploring Ruaha’s diverse landscapes. After an early breakfast, head out for a morning game drive when predators are most active. Admire the park’s rocky hills, open plains and impressive baobab forests as you search for leopards, cheetahs, hippos, crocodiles and countless bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush before continuing your afternoon drive. Return to camp for dinner and share stories of the day’s sightings around the campfire.
Ruaha - Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, depart Ruaha and catch a scheduled flight or drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Check in at your lodge perched on the crater rim and enjoy lunch with panoramic views. In the afternoon, relax and take in the breathtaking scenery or join a nature walk along the rim (depending on the lodge). Dinner and overnight overlooking one of the world’s most iconic wildlife havens.
Full Day in Ngorongoro Crater
Descend early into the Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable game drive. Often called the “Garden of Eden,” the crater offers one of the best chances to see the Big Five in a single day. Look out for black rhinos grazing, lions stalking prey, elephants wandering the forest edges and large herds of wildebeest and zebras. Ngorongoro - Mahale Mountains
After an early breakfast, transfer by flight to Mahale Mountains National Park on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. Upon arrival, take a boat transfer to your secluded lodge. After lunch, explore the white sand beaches or take a short forest walk to spot birds and smaller primates. Enjoy dinner with views over the lake, and listen to the forest sounds as you prepare for your chimpanzee trekking adventure the next day.
Chimpanzee Trekking and Departure
Start the morning with an early breakfast before setting off into the lush Mahale forests with your guide. Hike through the dense jungle to track and observe wild chimpanzees, a truly magical and intimate experience. Watch them play, groom and swing effortlessly through the trees.
